Named Minor League Player of the Year by The Sporting News. Ranked by The Sporting News as the 2nd top major league prospect. Selected top minor league RHP by Baseball America. Named the top prospect in the California League (A) and the 5th best prospect in the Texas League (AA) by Baseball America. Also named Dodgers’ Minor League Player of the Year. 

Promoted from Bakersfield (A) to San Antonio (AA) to Albuquerque (AAA) — compiling a 18-8 record. Was 8-0 at Bakersfield — the most wins in club history without a loss. His ERA was 2.05 in ten starts.

His 18 wins were the 2nd highest in the minor leagues and his 192 strikeouts were 4th best in the minors. The 192 strikeouts were the most by a Dodger minor league pitcher since Sid Fernandez had 209 in 1983.

His three shutouts in San Antonio tied for the Texas League lead. He was 7-5, 1.76 in 12 starts.
