Texas 1st — Chris Magruder struck out swinging. Ivan Rodriguez grounded out second to first. Alex Rodriguez flied out to left.

Texas 2nd — Rafael Palmeiro grounded out first to pitcher. Hank Blalock struck out swinging. Kevin Mench walked. Travis Hafner grounded out third to first.

Texas 3rd — Ryan Ludwick struck out swinging. Santiago Perez flied out to right. Magruder walked (squeezed by ump). IRodriguez singled. ARodriguez doubled to deep center, Magruder and IRodriguez scored. Palmeiro singled, ARodriguez scored. Kumagai relieved Martinez. Blalock grounded out first unassisted.

Pedro Martinez pitched 2.2 shaky innings and Tony Clark and Manny Ramirez homered as the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox battled to an 8-8 Grapefruit League tie.

Martinez, the first of eight Boston pitchers, surrendered three runs and three hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Red Sox manager, Grady Little, signed Monday, watched the game
from the press box and will be in uniform Tuesday. 

It was the third homer of the exhibition season for Clark, who drove in three runs and scored twice.  Ramirez also scored two runs and Carlos Baerga had two RBI for Boston.

Jason Hart and Jason Maxwell each homered and Alex Rodriguez doubled and drove in two runs for Texas, which sent seven hurlers to the mound.

Ismael Valdes started and was tagged for four runs and five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
