“After a loss as tough as Friday’s 6-4 extra-inning defeat against the Red Sox, you’d think the Blue Jays would have more on their minds than trying to get some calls changed in their favor. But after the game, official scorer Joe Sawchuck was requested by the Jays to review two plays where Boston second baseman Jose Offerman was charged with errors — on a ball he dropped in the ninth inning and one in the 10th when he bounced a throw to first. On both plays, Sawchuck changed his call. The changes gave a single to Alex Gonzalez in the ninth and a single to Jose Cruz in the 10th.”
