Schang (pinch-hitting for Leonard) singles on a 3-1 pitch into right field, Whiteman scores, Scott scores, sliding in safely under the tag, right field to first base to catcher.

Pitcher Joe Bush coached first base for Boston.
Film star Mary Pickford was at the game, along with one hundred women from the Liberty Loan Drive, raising money for the war effort.
